New Prints available.
A special selection of paintings are available to buy as a limited edition print.
In August 2019 thieves stole much of the lead from the 13th Century church of St. Mary's Chesterblade, leaving the building scarred and vulnerable to water damage.
In order to secure the future of our cherished village church we need to replace the stolen roof lead and install an alarm system that will deter any future theft. The village now has a rough estimate of the costs involved and the relevant permissions from the Diocese and Historic England are in place for restoration.
To raise funds Luke has produced five original framed paintings of St Mary's Chesterblade along with two special limited edition, archival prints available frame ready or in a frame. Only 50 of each will be produced. The work can be viewed in the 3D gallery here and photos of the prints are below.

A note on the artist and why he came to Stawley
In 2015 Luke Piper held an exhibition of paintings he called An English Songline - A painting journey from Cornwall to East Anglia. Most of the paintings were of churches on a line between St Michael's Mount and Great Yarmouth. The line between these two places is the direction of sunrise on 1st May, which is called the May Day Azimuth. The line passes through or near a remarkable number of churches dedicated to St Michael, so is called the St Michael Line. Dowsers following the St Michael Line detect influences on either side of it. You can see maps of this on Luke's website www.lukepiper.com The line following influences detected by dowsing wanders up to five miles from the St Michael Line. The Church of St Michael and All Angels, Stawley, is four miles from it.
